Hey Kari!!
What a incredible trip you have described. I am so glad this experience is working out. Your a real trail blazer for Miss Mel on her upcoming adventure. I just returned from mailing her "club application". Once through the club level then on to the district level. It is wonderful that your meeting other exchange trips and adding more fun to your adventure. Pls don't get so busy and stop the blogging...I think your blog has become a catalyst for the whole family. We all are sharing your experience with you even those who don't post ie: your grandfather Collin and Grandma Joanne, Terese and others who read!! Besides your dad needs a outlet for his humor!! Who knows how grumpy he would be if he couldn't pen his humorous thoughts!!! Your mom tells me you might get a opportunity to try out a "private" international school. Way cool. I figure every opportunity they throw at you..grab it. Just more experience to add to your life. Meet new people, who knows, it could be the best school ever. You won't know till you try!!!
I just spent a week commuting up the road 25 miles 2-3 times a day to visit Uncle Paul on the ship. We had a really nice visit with him. Last night all of us, including Miss Wilson spent the night on the ship. Wilson is so funny on the ship. All the smells and sounds are so new to her, she gets all barky and gruff..all the while dancing and wiggling around. I help with ship errands. Even hosted 4 crew men here at the house while the ship was inspected. They installed a doggy dog in the door that leads to the backyard. Now Wilson and Kiwi can let themselves out. Wils has the hang of it really well, Kiwi is still not sure about it. The ship is heading out to sea as I type today, next stop is Norfolk, VA. Then off to East Africa.
The general area of Houston is going nuts about the local pro baseball team going to the World Series. Oh, my. It is crazy. People are spending hours standing in lines at stores to buy a t-shirt!! It is the first time ever the Houston Astro's have gone to the world series, let alone win their Nat'l league championship, so the time is crazy about the Astro's. More crazy than Seattle was over the Mariners. There isn't a t-shirt or any kind of Astro stuff available. It is all sold out.
Our weather here has finally turned nice. We are having a cold snap!! 80's during the day, and 60's at night. Next week it is suppose to get in the 40's at night. No humidity!! It is awesome.
Well, Uncle Paul wants me to buy him a camera and ship it to Norfolk, so I best get busy. But I wanted to write and say hi, now that your back and I am back.
Miss you a whole bunch and keep on having the "time of your life" love you, ak
